Lenzi the Legend

Delighted!  I received two recent additions to my ever growing collection of poetry from Paul F. Lenzi.  As Paul’s biggest fan across the pond, I heartily recommend reading any of this wonderful poet’s endeavours.

A prolific and pensive poet, Paul F. Lenzi has written more than twenty books, and pens a hugely popular and successful blog (https://poesypluspolemics.com/).  Paul is a keen advocate for other writers, and has long been supportive of other poets (myself included).  This man has as much love as he has talent (no small wonder, he is widely adored).

And finally, I am delighted to share that Paul F. Lenzi has kindly written the ‘blurb’ for my forthcoming collection, ‘Legacy’ (of which I’ll keep you posted).

Keep smiling and keep writing, much love from Baldy.

Lacuna on Facebook

My publisher, Black Pear Press, kindly set up a page on Facebook.  Pictures from the book launch can be found there.  Take a look!

Beginning With Your Last Breath

Inspired!  Roy McFarlane, former Birmingham Poet Laureate, blew us away at the Worcestershire Litfest & Fringe Speakeasy, performing poetry from his book; ‘Beginning With Your Last Breath’.

Roy’s performance was intimate, interactive, and ingenious.  His poetry… superb.  ‘Beginning With Your Last Breath’, published by Nine Arches Press, is a tale told twice.  First, through the pages of this brilliant poet, then remembered, igniting something I never imagined.

You can get your hands on ‘Beginning With Your Last Breath here:

And I suggest you do!

Fragile Houses

Delighted, Baldy got his hands on ‘Fragile Houses’ (and his pal, poet, Nina Lewis)!  Nina’s debut pamphlet, published by V. Press, is an extraordinary journey through family history and relationships, penned with poetic precision.  There was a subtle sense of peeking at secrets and the joyous jog of pages read, and read again in one sitting, I loved ‘Fragile Houses’.

I felt connected to ‘Connections’ and thoroughly absorbed the other poems.  I was already a fan of Nina Lewis, enjoying her performances at a great many spoke word events, and melting into her eyes when she read to me privately during the Worcestershire Literary Festival & Fringe’s ‘Poetry Salon’.  To have a copy of Nina’s perfectly penned pages, is wonderful.  Inspiring.

Lacuna in Evesham

baldy lacuna1

Delighted to be invited,

the Evesham Festival of Words,

Baldy read from his new book!

A feeling, quite absurd!

Lacuna, not quite live yet,

but I could not resist,

taking my own copy,

in the hope to enlist,

a few more party-goers,

those poetry lovers,

who might say ‘Baldy, show us

what’s between Lacuna’s covers!’

Wonderful day in Evesham, the poetry walk was superb.  The sun was shining and the poets were on form.  I hope we get invited back next year!  Thank you to Polly Stretton for organising the walk and inviting so many talented people to participate.

Lacuna is available from Black Pear Press from Sunday 14th August, the book launch is at Drummonds (Worcester) at 4pm, and will include readings from the Magnificent Mike Alma, the Amazing Alan Durham, Perfect Poet, Polly Stretton, Worcestershire Poet Laureate, Suz Winspear and my five year old son, Oscar Davis.

Come and free cake, courtesy of Super Chef, Steve Kilmartin and Innovate Services ltd.  Then stay for the poetry and party after!
